BLACK UNDERGRADUATE LAW ASSOCIATION

We are more than just an organization dedicated to the success of our members, but a caring community of minority scholars sincere in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of all we meet.

SO... WHAT DOES BULA DO?

DUE-PAYING MEMBERS

GENERAL MEETINGS

We host general meetings on a bi-weekly basis on a variety of topics pertaining to law school, the LSAT, scholarship opportunities, navigating the law field as a minority, and more.

PRIVATE EVENTS

Due-paying members have priority access to private events such as dinners and panels featuring working professionals in the law field. This provides plenty of networking opportunities.

MENTORSHIP

BULA partners with the Black Law School Association (BLSA) here at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor to provide undergraduate students interested in law with the opportunity to gain insight into what it's like to be a law student.

SOCIAL EVENTS

Our executive board ensures that due-paying members feel like they'e a part of the family-- we plan on hosting a wide variety of intimate social events between the executive board and our members.

NETWORKING

We host a variety of events featuring notable panelists in the professional world who have first-hand experience in the law field (lawyers, judges, other court officials), as well as other professionals whose careers pertain to law (admissions directors, law school professors, and more).

EXCLUSIVE ACCESS

For the 2019-2020 school year, BULA plans on launching a database featuring BULA alumni. These alumni will be able to help members gain access to internship opportunities and potential job opportunities.

Our principle aim is to serve as a bridge of information, to support at all the various stages of our diverse memberships' pre-professional development, and to analyze the intersection between social justice and law.
